General Information
1. India has established a “Regional Centre of Biotechnology Training and Education” with the collaboration of UNESCO, in Faridabad, Haryana. This Centre would act as a biotechnology hub of expertise for the Asian region.
2. Separate concept papers on “Transport Linkages” were circulated by India and Kazakhstan, the co-prime movers in this area. India merged the two papers and circulated one consolidated concept paper at the 8th Ministerial Meeting in October 2009 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, after incorporating elements from both proposals. Comments from ACD member countries on the consolidated paper are awaited.
3. India offered to be a 'co-prime mover' in the area of culture in 2008. Iran is the 'prime mover'. Ministry of Culture, India hosted the 2nd SOM on 19-20 April 2012 in New Delhi. India offered publishing “Anthology of Poetry of Eminent Writers “ of ACD countries during 2nd SOM.
