The 2nd ACD Working Group Meeting on Inclusive and Sustainable Development

Being actively engaged with all the Pillar’s activities as one of the Co-Prime Mover, the State of Kuwait sees the opportunity to continue the momentum of this collaboration from the 1st Working Group organised in August 2017. As a result, Kuwait hosted the 2nd ACD Working Group on Inclusive and Sustainable Development on 12-13 March 2018. The meeting was presided by H.E. Ali Alsaeed, Foreign Minister’s Assistant to Asian Affairs and was attended by delegations from 32 Member States as well as Ambassadors of ACD Member States in Kuwait.

The meeting served as a platform for Member States to discuss views, ideas and exchange best practices and homegrown knowledges on inclusive and sustainable development. As a commitment to engagement and further cooperation under the pillar, the Kingdom of Thailand proposed to consolidate the list of consolidate the list of activities where different types of schemes are being practiced in different countries, for example, the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of Thailand as a way of sharing homegrown approaches toward sustainable development.

The meeting concluded by remarks of the ACD Secretary General that the outcomes of the meeting shall be reported to the Leaders at the 3rd ACD Summit in October 2018.
