ACD Workshop on Education

13th- 14th March 2019

The Education Workshop has the following objectives:

  • Build on ACD’s Education and Human Resource Development Blueprint 2017-2021, by advancing discussions that will help to improve access and quality of education, promote global citizenship and foster a competitive workforce.
  • Leverage successful education initiatives implemented in Qatar that could serve as examples for ACD member states, in particular the work developed by Qatar Foundation.
  • Collect inputs and lessons from stakeholders from ACD member states, that can help to increase cooperation in the education sector within Asia and also inspire new policies and initiatives in Qatar.

Participants

Education City Branch Campuses’ Representatives; HBKU Representatives; Representatives of Higher Education institutions in Qatar (beyond Qatar Foundation’s umbrella); Representatives of ACD University Network (ACD-UN); Representatives from ACD member states.

Format and Venue

Under the theme Learning from neighbours: A Pan-Asian effort to build contextualized education policies, the workshop will consist in a two-day activity, held on March 13th-14th 2019, consisted:

  • Day 1: Panels and discussions for the advancement of a common agenda among decision makers, at Qatar Foundation Headquarters.
  • Day 2: A guided tour around Education City and its institutions, as well as key visiting points in the city of Doha.
